Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems across various projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure that designs meet performance, cost, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components from concept to production.
- Oversee the creation of detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
- Conduct engineering analyses, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production and assembly processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical design engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on product development.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
